3KCBWDAY4 - A Knitter or Crocheter For All Seasons?

Day 4 of Knitting and Crochet Blog week!!
A knitter or crocheter for all seasons....
As spring is in the air in the northern hemisphere and those in the southern hemisphere start setting their sights for the arrival of winter, a lot of crocheters and knitters find that their crafting changes along with their wardrobe. Have a look through your finished projects and explain the seasonality of your craft to your readers. Do you make warm woollens the whole year through in preparation for the colder months, or do you live somewhere that never feels the chill and so invest your time in beautiful homewares and delicate lace items. How does your local seasonal weather affect your craft?

I have to start off by saying, I LOVE crocheting and its a hobby that I do year round.  Its something that relaxes me at night and I always have so much fun doing it, no matter how many mess ups I may make working something special up. ;)

I will usually crochet for seasons to come in preparation for the coming season. Although, I do crochet small things here and there during the season that we can wear then, it just depends on my mood and if I see a pattern or think of a pattern and just have to work it up right then and there.  Right now I am working on fall/winter stuff with a few spring/summer things sprinkled in.  I start my crocheting and crafting for the winter holidays {Christmas for us} in March so that I have enough time to get it all done.  That way I don't stress about getting all of the handmade gifts done and I am usually done by the end of Nov. with the bulk of it so I have time to enjoy the holidays and bake, bake, bake! :)  You can follow along with what I am making for the holidays on my Spring into the Holidays 2012 page.

As for what my daughter and will wear that is crocheted during the seasons....

We wear the usual warm and cozy stuff in the cooler months.

In the Fall and early Spring we wear....

And in the hot Summer months, its headbands & accessories!

No matter the month, Victoria and & will usually be sporting some kind of crocheted goodness. We have adapted how we wear stuff to suit the months, either with the yarn used or types of patterns.

Do you guys crochet differently season to season or do you keep it up year round making certain things for each season?

  1. I love all your crocheted projects and your photos are amazing. I'm not a huge fan of Crochet, but these pictures really make me appreciate it more.
